The SAB Type of Shaft Seal with the external sealing lip is used for seal- ing against the grease. In axial shaft seal the elastomer seal lip is axially spring loaded against the opposite mating face by the spider spring. The axial shaft seal consists of the elastomer membrane with a metallic reinforcement ringand a metallic spider spring used as an energizer to the sealing lip. It has to be an interference fi t between the housing bore and the shaft.
